This week I asked artists to divulge exactly how they created their art—whether they looked at real-life objects and scenes, used reference photographs, or just used their own imagination.
I even threw in the option of “other artwork” in case there were any dedicated art forgers out there (there aren’t that many, apparently).
As I write this, the “reference photographers” are in the lead, but there’s still plenty of time for all you plein air painters and abstract expressionists to chime in and make things interesting.
Look below for the most current results—and if you haven’t voted yet, please do!
What do you most often create your artwork from?
